Babies are beautiful! Babies need love! Babies need a family! These are a few of the things an organization like Wyoming Children’s Society works on for the rest of us.Â
My brother adopted a baby from Wyoming Children’s Society a few years ago. Once you have an adopted baby in your family you start to realize how common adoption is in our community. I am thankful for the hard work, dedication and love of the people running this organization and their volunteers show every day! What a joy it is for a family to have the blessing to raise a child. How wonderful for a mother to have the option of adoption. And how wonderful that the baby has a chance.
Wyoming Children’s Society was started in 1911. It is the oldest non-profit adoption agency in the state of Wyoming. It’s amazing to see an organization that is more than 100 years old still going strong. There is such a need for bringing babies and families together. In 2014, Wyoming Children’s Society opened a new branch in Colorado.
This year’s gala honored Carol Burman Lindly, who is retiring after her years of service and support. Congratulations and we wish you the best. Â
The society offers adoption services, pregnancy support services, domestic infant, waiting child and inter-country adoption services. Each year the Wyoming Children Society hosts a gala to raise money to support the services they offer. According to the online bidding, the 111th annual Gala raised $89,000! This year the event was held on Saturday, August 27 at Little America. We’re thankful for the opportunity to be a bronze sponsor and to be a small part of an evening serving women, children, and families! Thank you RE/MAX Capitol Property agents Amy and Brenton Leavitt for filling the table with committed community members, pictured here with Lee Lowrey with American Pacific Mortgage and his wife.
