Decisions sellers must make.
Sometimes the timing feels right to sell; other times, it never feels like there is good timing. No matter your situation, making informed decisions during your selling of a home, property, or land is frequent, and it starts with the decision to sell.
When is the right time to sell?
- You’ll need to determine your timeframe. When do you need to move, or are you only considering a move? The timing can be challenging if you want to find your new home before you list your home since some sellers won’t take a contingent offer, and you fear that your house will sell before you find your new dream home. An experienced, hard-working agent can help you with many decisions and lay out a timeline.
Then once you decide to sell, you have to make a few decisions to get started. However, choosing what to do next is part of the seller decision process, but we have resources to help make it easy.
What should I do first?
- If you have an agent you have worked with that you know, like, and trust, then give them a call to set up an appointment. Research the real estate market online at CheyenneHomeStore.com. There you’ll be able to see current listings, listings in your neighborhood to compare to yours, blogs about the real estate market and statistics, and choose a realtor if you don’t already have one.
- After you’ve met with a realtor, you should know what you need to do to get the home ready to go on the market. Do you need to clean, organize, declutter, repair, or paint areas of your home and yard? If so, then you’ll want to get those items taken care of quickly. Your realtor should have a list of recommended service providers.
Then once you have gotten some of the preparation, we recommend selecting a real estate agent to assist you with the rest. They can help you access other resources in their network like lenders, title companies, appraisers, inspectors, and more.
