I love the season of Advent and all the joy that comes with it!
This year my friend and colleague Natalie Collins with Edward Jones Investments asked me to join her in a reverse Advent calendar opportunity. Instead of getting one of those delicious daily calendars filled with a small piece of chocolate, it’s a calendar with a daily non-perishable food product that we will gather and deliver together to one of the local food banks in Cheyenne on Christmas Eve.
We will put up a box in our RE/MAX office at 4000 Central Avenue for community members to participate. If you have anything you’d like to add to our box please drop it off during business hours, Monday-Friday 8 a.m. – 5 p.m. You’ll see on the list what food item goes with each day of December.
Here is a list of the daily donation request:
I asked Natalie what made her want to participate and invite friends to complete this project.
“When I saw the idea of the reverse advent calendar I immediately paused. 2020 has been hard…hard in a profoundly different way than any other year in recent memory. During these tough COVID times, it is important to remember those less fortunate than ourselves and I thought this idea was terrific. Christmas can be a tough time of year for many people, and I wanted to simply try and give to those in need. I have so many fond memories associated with sitting around a table eating good food. If participating in this reverse advent calendar can help some friends and families gather together with smiles on their faces, creating memories, than I will be very happy.”
Natalie will also have a box at her Edward Jones office located at 2220 Dell Range, Monday-Thursday, 8 a.m. – 5 p.m. and Friday 8 a.m. – 4 p.m. On Christmas Eve we will deliver the Advent Calendar contents to a local food bank, so please have any food donations to our offices by 10 a.m. on Christmas Eve.
Let’s show some love to our community during this Christmas season! Thank you in advance for helping us spread a little Christmas joy! We are SOLD on our community!
