When you spend your dollars at locally owned and operated businesses, they make a larger local impact.
Shop Small Business Saturday was founded by American Express in 2002. The goal was to shed light on the importance of supporting locally owned and operated businesses. Did you know that small business makes up 98% of Laramie County’s economy? This is a huge portion! That means that your purchases, when made at locally owned and operated businesses, will in turn help your neighbors, friends and family. These businesses are also strong supporters of local causes and non-profit organizations. That means they are the charitable backbone of the community.
“Local spending and business growth directly benefits the local economy. Independent stores return more than three times as much money per dollar to the local economy than their chain competitors. This revenue helps drive employment opportunities and can provide funding for needed projects – anything from road maintenance to technology updates in schools.” shared Senator Enzi.
At RE/MAX Capitol Properties we believe it is important to support your own. We want to encourage you all to shop small on Small Business Saturday and throughout the holiday season! Remember to Shop Small because it is a BIG deal!
