This initiative began in 2008 by American Express but the actual initiative has been alive for decades, even centuries because stakeholders believe in supporting their community. For Saturday’s November 24th Small Business Saturday the City of Cheyenne had over 80 participating businesses. That means they engaged in offering specials, discounts, deals and other great offerings to show their appreciation to their community.

Now it is your turn to take the time to go support these businesses. It isn’t just a day that we should be shopping locally but it is the mindset of shopping locally first. Your purchase with a local business will impact the local economy 10 times more than if spent at a big box store. This means your hard earned dollars become a critical foundation of the holiday season and income of families within your community. It means that each dollar you spend at local businesses you could view it as an investment in improving the local economics of the City of Cheyenne and Wyoming.

All we ask is that if you go to purchase gifts, product or services, take a moment to consult a local business first before venturing else where.
