Don’t miss this year’s Booklovers’ Bash on Friday, October 29!
The saying goes, you scream, I scream, we all scream for ice cream! But, that’s never really been my thing. Instead, I scream for homemade baked goods, so helping to organize the Dessert Dash for the Library Foundation’s, Booklovers’ Bash, is a perfect fit for my personality! Each year I am amazed at the generosity of our baking community, both professionals and those who simply love to bake.
We started the Dessert Dash in 2015. It has raised between $10-12,000 each year since! Isn’t that amazing!
I believe this is a true testament to the community’s love for our library. It’s an equalizer. Everyone has access to it for books on any subject imaginable, computers, business help, young adults, children books and activities, there are classes on many subjects too. One I haven’t found time to participate in, but I hope to in the future is ancestry. They have the resources there to help you build out your family tree. During the summer they have the Summer Reading Program which RE/MAX Capitol Properties has had the opportunity to be Presenting Sponsors for the last two years.
If you’d like to support the Library, please purchase your tickets HERE. I expect this year’s event to be fabulous with our speaker, Jill Conner Browne. Here’s her bio from the Library’s website.
Multiple #1 New York Times® Bestselling Author, Jill Conner Browne, THE Sweet Potato Queen™, has created a global phenomenon—over 6,400 chapter groups in 37 countries—based upon her philosophy and world-view as recounted through her rollicking, raucous, and riotously funny essays. Women and smart men understand that the bawdy, sassy, down-to-earth humor is simply the vehicle by which the greater message is conveyed—that is, one of self-reliance and empowerment, inspiring all to do what makes their hearts sing.
The notorious, one-of-a-kind, inimitable, glorious, and original sweet potato royal is bringing her Southern wit, charm, and hilarity to Cheyenne, Wyoming for Laramie County Library Foundation’s annual Booklovers Bash!
Queen Jill Conner Browne’s talk will be accompanied by dinner, silent auction, live auction, and a dessert dash that is as infamous as THE Sweet Potato Queen™ herself! Supporting Laramie County Library Foundation has never been so fun, hilarious, or sweet (potato, that is), so purchase tickets today!
Be sure to bring some extra money to pool together with your table friends for the first opportunity to “dash” for your dessert choice! You’ll be amazed at the desserts our local bakers have in store for you this year! We even have a RE/MAX Capitol Properties agent baking a German Chocolate Cake for the event, Amy Leavitt. Thank you to each baker for donating his or her time and talent to support our local community gem! You make me love what I do! This is another reason I am SOLD on our community!
