Libraries are an essential part of communities and are the great equalizers.
Annually the Laramie County Library Foundation hosts the “Booklovers Bash” to raise funds for programs that are not covered by taxes. Proceeds help sustain programming and improve overall experiences at the library, and each year, a different Author is a keynote. This year C.J. Box, a Wyoming Author, spoke. An exciting milestone for him this year, one of his stories has been converted into a television series on ABC and will premiere this fall. It is called “Big Sky.” Having an example of this level of success was insightful for all attendees. It helps put into perspective that dreams do come true, and they are possible, a message that seems so applicable during a challenging 2020.
If you have not yet visited the library in Cheyenne, make sure to do a visit – 2200 Pioneer Ave. It is worthwhile and genuinely has something for everyone. Additionally, suppose you are already a supporter. In that case, we ask that you consider contributing to the Library Foundation to help make sure the programs remain accessible and excellent. Steve and Stephanie Prescott, owners of RE/MAX Capitol Properties, choose the library as a key focus for their community giving. Stephanie has been on the Library Foundation’s Board of Directors for the last five years.
