You now have the 1986 Bangles Manic Monday song stuck in your head if you are like me! While the holiday season can feel a little manic at times, wild, exciting, chaotic, and energetic, my wish is that you also find peace, joy, and happiness. Our objective with our 6th annual RE/MAX Capitol Properties Merry Mondays weekly giveaways is to spread some of the positive love during Thanksgiving and Christmas by sharing memories, favorites, and traditions.
I hope that some of the families we served this year by helping them get into a new home are eagerly awaiting the memories that will begin this Christmas! We love the annual exterior illumination and interior decorations that we put up year after year in our home. Incredibly, we don’t tire of the old, but instead, welcome it like it is brand new! My family always gets an ornament on every trip, so as we unwrap each one, it is a walk down memory lane. It keeps us grounded on the importance of the meaning of Christmas and family. Plus, it shines a light on things we are all grateful for and allows us to reflect.
I also realize that not everyone has the same feelings at this time of year. It can be a painful time for many. My prayer for each of you and our community this holiday season is to remember the “reason for the season.” If you can engage in a community effort to support each other, say yes. Attend a church service to fill your soul with the familiar songs that make your heart sing. Visit a neighbor. Reach out to connect with someone you know is hurting this year due to illness, a loss of a loved one, or a military deployment.
Spreading joy, merry, and fun to those who make us love what we do is our Christmas spirit. It’s a magical time of year at RE/MAX Capitol Properties because we get the opportunity to say thank you to our community and help others along the way. Part of our mission, vision, and beliefs statement is that we need to give back to the community that gives so much to us. We couldn’t do what we do without you, so starting November 22, we are giving away a $200 cash prize every week until January 10.
