How is your Summer Reading?

Summer reading is an “Ocean of Possibilities.”

Carey Harman is the Director of the Laramie County Library System and is inviting you all to join the Summer Reading Challenge. It is a fun way to read and enjoy it with your family and friends. This year they are hosting an array of fun events too. Including the Harry Potter Birthday Celebration.

Jennie Gordon, Wyoming First Lady shared why she enjoys reading and encourages people of all ages to read. She grew up in a large family, having 9 brother and sisters. Neither of her parents graduated from High School and wanted more for their children. Reading was very important in her house and they shared philosophy with their kids “if you can read you can learn.” She started to read at an early age and continues this tradition with not only her kids but her grandson.

What makes reading even more fun is the opportunity to read for cool prizes in addition to the educational value.

You can sign up for the summer reading challenge at anytime between June 1st and August 15th. The challenge is to read at least 20 to 30 minutes a day for a total of 25 days. For every 5 days you read, you get a prize! It is that simple.
