2019 is NOT a great year to purchase a home.
2019 is NOT a great year to sell a home.
The reason is that you cannot purchase or sell a home.
However, you can purchase or sell a house.
A house is merely the structure. That structure could be a tiny home, a tent, a mobile or manufactured home, an old converted bus, an apartment, a converted missile silo, or even a mansion.
A home is what you make of the place you live. A home is made of love. A home is built on the characters of the individuals that make up the household.
A house is just what you come back to at night so that you can have a place to sleep or eat. However, a home is what you miss on long days and you are ready to go back to spend time with your spouse and your children.
Sadly, too many people think that the word house and home are synonymous. Or, they think that this is merely a matter of semantics. When we as individuals fail to make the distinction between the structure and our families then we have lost something deep within us.
When children are growing up, they are extremely resilient. They can grow up in a house, a condo, or an apartment. However, when there is a lack of love and all that makes up a home, that strife will long be remembered.
As parents, we have a responsibility to make sure that no matter what type of structure we live in that we are striving to make our house into a home.
If you are looking for a new house, as a realtor, I can help you find one of those in just about any shape or size. However, I cannot make a house into a home.
My encouragement to each of you who are reading this, is that you will work in 2019 even harder on building a home, as we do in looking to sell or purchase a house.
