June 21st is officially the first day of summer! Children are out of school and probably already driving parents crazy. Parents are at work looking outside and wishing they had extra vacation time so they could go enjoy the warming rays of the sun. And my youngest sister, Sharon, is counting down the days til Christmas. But I digress as that is a story for a different blog post. LOL
However, today is also:
NATIONAL SELFIE DAY
Thanks to social media and the smartphone, June 21st recognizes a form of self-portrait that couldn’t exist without them. It’s National Selfie Day!
On National Selfie Day, we are encouraged to take creative (appropriate) selfies and share them on social media.
While the act of taking a selfie may predate social media, smartphones and the word which is now in the Oxford dictionary, the popularity of taking these self-portraits and the ability to do so has never been easier. Selfie sticks and multi-functional camera phones make it all too easy to take these kinds of photographs as well as group selfies (aka groupies). — HT: National Calendar
As realtors, we also enjoy summer with our families and we enjoy seeing the fruits of our labors. When we help you find a new home, it is nice to know that you like it. So, whether you are a brand-new homeowner or you made your purchase a couple of years ago, make sure you take a selfie to celebrate you and your house. After all, your house likes selfies just like you do.
You can show off the new paint job, or the fire pit you built with your kids that may be a little lopsided, or even a picture of you grilling out with friends and family.
Memories made are often kept longer when they are recorded in some way. So, on this first day of summer, make a little video or take a selfie with you at your house and post it to your favorite social media platform.
For those who are jealous because you are still renting, give me a call today and let’s find you a home before summer ends.
