Communication is the Key

Do you know what one of the primary reasons for breakdowns in business transactions and marriages actually is?

Lack of communication

“He said.”

“She said.”

“They said.”

The problem though is the old adage attributed to several individuals including Alan Greenspan, former head of the Federal Reserve.

“ I know you think you understand what you thought I said but I’m not sure you realize that what you heard is not what I meant”

Go back and read that tongue twister again. I’ll wait for you.

Sadly, the real estate market is not exempt from this malady. Many times, a sale or a purchase can fall apart because there was either a small lack of communication, or in some cases, a great lack of it.

On the part of the realtor, we are professionally trained and our license is meant to show that we are able to communicate with our clients about all aspects of the real estate transaction.

Yet, this is not always the case. On many occasions, a client (seller or buyer) has allowed me to begin a new working relationship with them simply because their former agent rarely or NEVER called them back. Even the lack of communication between listing and selling agents can produce additional problems. Shame on the realtors who cannot be bothered to answer a text, return a phone call, or that have to be chased indefinitely just to obtain one more piece of paper needed to close a file.

However, on the part of the client, it is also imperative that you speak with us – at any time you have a question.

There is NO such thing as a dumb question. If you had all the answers to the ins and outs of the real estate market, then you would not have a need to use a realtor.
