We cannot believe it, our kiddos have returned to school after one long summer break.
We have had the strangest year, and in all sincerity, we want to ask where the summer of 2020 went. It was an intense time for us in the United States from riots, to a pandemic, to political races and life-altering closures. Even with a complex environment, real estate is still doing well! Laramie County has seen a volume of activity. We have a limited housing supply for buyers to select from, but we still see great movement and action. According to the RE/MAX National Housing Report, we saw a record bounce back during July. This is excellent news for us all. Here are three things you need to know about this historic July.
- July saw a historic amount of homes sold – home sales were up 8.7% over last year.
- The number of homes on the market remains low – with only 1.7 months supply.
- Home prices grew 8.6% over last year. The median home price is $285,000.
It appears that the fall will be a busy time. If you’re thinking about selling your home, now’s the time. Buyers are in the market, interest rates are still historically low, and you won’t have much competition. If you’re thinking about a move this fall, we will help you at RE/MAX Capitol Properties.
Also, in honor of back to school activities, we want to wish everyone the best school year. We know that this summer was unusual, but we hope that it can allow everyone to be grateful for the times we spend with our friends, learning, and being a community. We are certainly thankful to be in Cheyenne, Wyoming, and wouldn’t pick any other place on this Earth to be right now. Going through this in Cheyenne has been an oasis comparatively, and it has shown us more reasons to love our home.
