Cheyenne is an exciting place to live!
We are starting to see more growth with the expansion of some of the local distribution centers like Wal-Mart, Lowes, and Sierra Trading Post. Â These companies alone account for approximately 2000Â employees. Cheyenne Regional Medical Center employs another 2000 employees.
However, I have no doubt that the new additions from the US Air Force are going to substantially add more numbers to the workforce. This will be good for people who are considering moving to Cheyenne for a great place to raise a family. Â In recent news, the US Air Force reported through the Associated Press that…
The military is expected to spend between $4 billion and $5 billion over the next 10 to 20 years to modernize the intercontinental ballistic missile system at Wyoming’s F.E. Warren Air Force Base.
The Casper Star-Tribune reports that the spending could more than quadruple the typical amount of construction spending in Cheyenne.
The upgrades include concrete pours for new missile silos and buildings to house improved communications systems for the ICBM network. They’re part of a $140 billion effort to replace the nation’s aging Minuteman nuclear missiles.”
Some have estimated that the US Air Force plans on bringing in several hundred new military personnel to help with the staffing of these systems.
What does this mean for you and me? Â If this ramps up as expected, then the housing market is going to experience higher prices to try and keep up with the demand of new families looking for a great place to live. Ultimately, if you are interested in moving on to a bigger or better property, the end of 2017 and the beginning of 2018 could be the best chance you have to get what you want at a great price.
During times of a shortage of homes to purchase, rental prices will go up and they are already high here in Cheyenne. So, this holiday season, do you and your family a favor. Call me and let me help you find the house you can make a home.
