2018 Resolutions

Every year, it has become a tradition to make resolutions for the new year.

I can remember my parents having my younger siblings and I sit down the very first week of January and write out our resolutions. What they were expecting were things like:

  1.  I resolve to be nice to my brothers and sisters EVERY day.
  2.  I resolve to do more chores around the house EVERY day.
  3.  I resolve to eat everything that is put on my plate EVERY day.
  4.  I resolve to save part of my allowance EVERY week.

I am sure if you are a parent, you understand how wonderful these things would be if our children kept such resolutions, but it was a futile effort by my parents to have such high expectations.

Just like children, adults sometimes have great difficulty in keeping any resolutions that they make. For example, many resolved that they would lose weight, or exercise more, or eat less desserts, or spend more time with their children, or pay off a bill early, or whatever.

Sadly, we are already halfway through the first month of 2018, and I am sure that many of these resolutions that we resolved to do have already gone by the wayside.

The dictionary defines resolution as 1) a firm decision to do or not to do something, or 2) the action of solving a problem, dispute, or contentious matter.

Here is my challenge from a real estate perspective. If you are interested in selling your home this year, make a firm decision to get the best help you can. Resolve that you will only request an agent who will look out for you and your best interests. Resolve that you will get your house in the best shape it has ever been and ready to be sold.

This may involve some action on your part to help solve the problem of selling. You may need to paint a room or two, or scrape some peeling paint and get it repainted, or clean out the gutters, or remove some of the clutter inside and outside of your home. There are a myriad of things we can all resolve to do in order to be better prepared.

As an agent, I have resolved that I will continue to offer you the best customer service available in Cheyenne. I am resolved that whether you are a buyer or a seller that you will never be a number, but a real person who wants my attention to help you sell your home, or help you buy your dream home.

Be resolved that 2018 is going to be your best year ever. Call 307-635-0303 and let us help you with your real estate needs.
